Ballot and Nominations Information

NYHIMA is led by a seven-member elected volunteer Board of Directors and appointed Committee Chairs/Practice Liaisons. Each year the Nominating Committee, comprised of the nine geographic locals' presidents under the Chairmanship of the NYHIMA Past President Director, constructs a ballot that is representative of the statewide membership. All active members in good standing have the opportunity to participate in selecting the Association's leaders for the coming year. Nominations are solicited from the membership at large and are guided by the Association's Bylaws requirement that members must be active members in good standing [i.e.; dues paid for the current year] at both AHIMA and NYHIMA. Potential candidates are vetted by the Nominating Committee before being placed on the ballot. Serving in a leadership position can be a very rewarding experience and an asset to your career.
