President’s Message
Welcome to the new NYHIMA Website!
Since 1935, NYHIMA has been dedicated to promoting the professional excellence of its members through education, advocacy, and alliances. As we begin our 77th year, we’re excited about the many changes taking place in the workplace and in the Association.
NYHIMA is a strong and vital organization whose success is driven by the active involvement of its members and the work of its Local Associations, elected Board of Directors, Committees / Taskforces / Sections, and Central Office. Each program and service is designed with our members’ needs in mind. You can look to us to help you stay up to date on HIM issues and address the challenges of your professional growth.
The NYHIMA education calendar and our 77th Annual Conference in Rochester in June 2012 will offer you a broad spectrum of opportunities for quality continuing education at a discounted price. Our e-newsletter, Perspectives Online, will be getting a makeover this year to enhance your professional resources experience. The Central Office staff will continue to update and enhance the Website to bring to your desktop a wealth of timely informational assets and a user-friendly format for the exchange of information.
NYHIMA holds several planning meetings each year. The Strategic Planning Meeting brings together State and Local leaders to develop the Association’s roadmap for the future. The fall and spring Local Leadership meetings provide an opportunity to participate in leadership development and skill building activities to foster Local Association success. The Educators’ Forum provides an opportunity for program directors and faculty to come together to network and participate in discussion with speakers from CAHIIM.
These are just some examples of the benefits you gain by being a NYHIMA member. You are encouraged to take advantage of what is offered to you through Association activities at the Local, State, and National level. Your Local leadership, elected NYHIMA Board of Directors and the Central Office staff stand ready to work with you to achieve a successful membership year!
Sincerely,
