Ambulatory Coder

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center

Performs complex diagnostic and procedural coding for ambulatory surgery and outpatient surgery.

College level courses or equivalent in anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology required.  CCS, RHIA or RHIT preferred.  1 - 2 years’ demonstrated complex diagnostic and procedural ambulatory surgery or outpatient surgery coding experience required in a computerized/electronic environment, preferably in an academic medical center.  Documented evidence of advanced course work in ICD9CM, CPT4, HCPCS and disease process required.  Demonstrated 1-2 years’ recent progressive ambulatory and outpatient surgery coding experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Inpatient Coder

NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center

The Inpatient Coder performs varied and complex diagnostic and procedural coding for accurate DRG, severity of illness and risk of mortality assignment.

Preferred candidates will have completed college level coursework in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology and a formal inpatient coding training program. CCS, RHIA or RHIT is preferred. Two to three years' experience in complex diagnostic and procedural inpatient coding within an academic medical center is also required.
