March 2010
AHIMA is currently recruiting for the RHIT Job Analysis Task Force. Volunteers must be certified professionals with a current RHIT certification. Volunteers must be able to attend an in-person meeting in May or June at our Chicago office. All meeting-related expenses will be paid. Volunteers must also be able to participate in several conference calls throughout the year, and are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and a conflict of interest form.
Interested candidates should submit their resumes electronically to lisa.chernikoff@ahima.org. Please put “RHIT Job Analysis Task Force” in the subject line. The application deadline is Monday, April 5, 2010.

AUGUST 2008
CMS has announced that on April 22, 2008 it will publish the NPRM for ICD-10 Implementation scheduled to become effective on October 1, 2010. AHIMA is offering a free, informationa, pre-recorded webcast to educate healthcare and HIM professionals on the contents of the NPRM, our initial interpretation, important dates, impact on the industry, and next steps in the transition.
