Telemedicine Challenges – Medicare and Medicaid Billing Requirements

At this point telemedicine is a moving target, with significant changes being released regularly. This presentation will focus on current Medicare and NY Medicaid regulations/changes in billing requirements and set up, as well as the differences between the two. We will summarize the current Medicare guidance including virtual care, and telemedicine for stroke and chemical addiction. We will also summarize the 2019 Medicaid guidance including DOH’s response to specific questions we have posed. Time will be allowed for questions and discussion with the audience. (1 CEU)

She is a frequent speaker at the national, state and local levels for HFMA and AHIMA professional groups. Jean has a Master from the University of Houston in Biomedical Engineering; a Bachelor from Colgate University in Biology; and RHIT from the independent study program through the American Health Information Management Association.
