Janet Mohlenhoff, MPA, RHIA, CCS, CTR, Clinical Professor, CUNY School of Professional Studies

Janet Mohlenhoff is a Clinical Professor for the Health Information Management Baccalaureate Program, Health Services Administration Bachelor’s degree, and Medical Coding Certificate program at CUNY – School of Professional Studies in New York City. She has a diverse background, having worked for over 25 years in different health care settings – long term care, clinic, and acute care.  

Ellen Karl, MBA, RHIA, CHDA, FAHIMA and Academic Director of HIM, CUNY School of Professional Studies
 After completing 30 years as a Practitioner, Ellen made a career adjustment and entered academia. The majority of her HIM work experience was as the Director of a Health Information Management department. Ms. Karl recently completed a three-year term on the AHIMA Board of Directors and is currently serving on the AHIMA Foundation Board. Ellen also served as the Chair of AHIMA’s Council for Excellence in Education (American Health Information Management Association) and is currently serving on the CAHIIM’s (Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management) Health Information Management Accreditation Council (HIMAC). She is also a past president of the New Jersey Health Information Management Association (NJHIMA) and currently serving as the President-Elect for the Health Information Management Association of New York City.  She received her MBA with a concentration in Health Administration from the University of Miami, and a B.S. in Health Information Management from the University of Central Florida.
