Webinar Description
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming part of the health information management (HIM) workflow, and HIM professionals are uniquely positioned to lead its responsible adoption. This session explores practical, real-world applications of AI in coding, clinical documentation integrity (CDI), documentation review, and health information operations.
Attendees will learn how commonly available tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity can be used to streamline repetitive tasks, improve productivity, support coding and CDI workflows, and enhance professional decision-making. Through real-world demonstrations and use cases, participants will see how prompt engineering can significantly improve AI output quality while also learning key principles for protecting PHI, maintaining compliance, and keeping the human professional in the lead.
The session will also provide an overview of emerging healthcare AI technologies, including ambient documentation, autonomous coding, and AI-assisted CDI solutions, helping HIM professionals understand what is available today and what is on the horizon.
