Taking the Confusion Out of Coding Injections and Infusions
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time , Thu, Jun 18

Program Overview:

CMS and CPT® have created a system for reporting infusions, injections and hydrations that can be confusing. Reporting these services correctly and completely is critical for appropriate reimbursement and to avoid revenue loss due to compliance issues. In this presentation we will summarize key terminology and definitions associated with reporting injections, infusions and hydration, as well as how to determine primary (initial) and secondary codes. We will address modifiers and the appropriate application of modifier – 59 (distinct procedure) and it’s replacement modifiers (XS, XP, XE, XU) as they related to injections and infusions.  We will also cover some current drug related billing issues.

Take Away: Injection/Infusion Reporting Color-Guided Code Reference Sheet.
