Based on synthetical literature reviews and theoretical explorations, this presentation examines the research trends in integrating AI into teaching and learning, shares an analysis of the implications, and discusses some suggestions for health care educational practices.

Jing Lei, Ph.D.
Professor; Associate Dean For Academic Affairs, Syracuse University

Dr. Jing Lei is a Professor of Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the School of Education at Syracuse University. Her scholarship focuses on integrating emerging technology in educational settings, the impact of technology on education and society, design of online and blended learning, and digital pedagogies in various learning environments. Dr. Lei has coauthored three books including The Digital Pencil: One-to-One Computing for Children (2008), The Handbook of Asian Education: A Cultural Perspective (2010), and Never Send a Human to Do a Machine’s Job: Correcting the Top Five Edtech Mistakes (Corwin, 2015). She has published more than 80 journal articles and book chapters, presented over 100 articles at national and international conferences, and given more than 30 keynote or special guest speeches. She has received research funding from the Kauffmann Foundation (2008-2010), the National Science Foundation (NSF) (2010-2013, 2021-2024), and the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) (2018-2020). Her research has been featured by influential media such as USA Today, US News & World Report, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Education Week, and Forbes.
