Integrating AI Technologies in Health Care Education1 CEUDescriptionBased on synthetical literature reviews and theoretical explorations, this presentation examines the research trends in integrating AI into teaching and learning, shares an analysis of the implications, and discusses some suggestions for health care educational practices. Featured SpeakerJing Lei, Ph.D. Dr. Lei is a Professor of Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Education at Syracuse University. She received her Ph.D. in Learning, Technology and Culture from Michigan State University. Dr. Lei’s scholarship focuses on educational integration of emerging technology including VR, AR, and AI, design of online and blended learning, and digital pedagogies in various learning environments. Dr. Jing Lei has coauthored three books including The Digital Pencil: One-to-One Computing for Children (2008), The Handbook of Asian Education: A Cultural Perspective (2010), and Never Send a Human to Do a Machine’s Job: Correcting the Top Five Edtech Mistakes (Corwin, 2015). She has published more than 80 journal articles and book chapters, presented over 100 articles at national and international conferences, and given more than 30 special guest speeches. She has received research funding from the Kauffmann Foundation (2008-2010), the National Science Foundation (NSF) (2010-2013, 2021-2024), and the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) (2018-2020). Her research has been featured by influential media such as USA Today, US News & World Report, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Education Week, and Forbes. |
