QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training1 CEUDescriptionQPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an evidence-based, skill building suicide prevention gatekeeper training designed for individuals who interact with those at risk for suicide. QPR teaches about suicide warning signs, risk factors, and discusses myths and facts about suicide. Trainees will be able to recognize someone at risk of suicide, be able to intervene with those at risk, refer them to appropriate resources, and offer hope. Featured SpeakerTim FayetteBehavioral Health Coordinator Fort Drum Regional Health Tim Fayette joined the FDRHPO team as the Behavioral Health Coordinator in 2023, in which he is responsible for overseeing the organization’s behavioral health initiatives. His responsibilities include facilitating the regional Behavioral Health Committee and managing deliverables for the SAMHSA/Mental Health Awareness Training grant. Tim also coordinates the Jefferson County Suicide Coalition and serves as the regional suicide coalition representative for the North Country. Before joining FDRHPO, Tim worked as an Outreach Coordinator/Advocate at the Victim’s Assistance Center, where he delivered trainings on trafficking, internet safety, and child abuse. He is a certified facilitator for "Getting Ahead," and a certified trainer for Bridges Out of Poverty, Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid, QPR, SPCNY's "Link to Hope" Suicide Prevention training, and NYSTINRC's "Tending the Roots" Trauma-Informed trainings. Tim is actively involved in the community, serving on the North Country Perinatal Council Board of Directors, the United Way of NNY Peer Grants Review Committee, and the "Bridges Out of Poverty" Steering Committee. |
