Update of the 2025 CPT Coding
This section will review the new CPT codes that went into effect on January 1st, 2025
Presenter:
Amanda Baird, RHIA
Coding Supervisor of SVC Coding, Claim Edits, Denials and Education, University of Rochester

Amanda Baird, RHIA is a Coding Supervisor of SVC Coding, Claim edits, Denials and Education at the University of Rochester. She is also the Professional Practice Coordinator for HIT students and has assisted in the development and creation of a completely virtual internship. Amanda works closely with Compliance and aides in educating the HIM Coding team as well as onboarding new providers. Over her 13 year career in HIM, she has held coding positions in multi-specialty outpatient/ambulatory surgery coding, and was a Coding Integrity Coordinator working with and educating physicians before earning her Bachelor’s degree in 2018 and beginning her current role with the University of Rochester. Amanda values education and welcomes the opportunity to share her knowledge and experiences.

Tia Lehr
Lead Inpatient Coding, Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester

Tia Lehr is the Inpatient Coding Lead for the University of Rochester Medical Center located in Rochester, New York and has over 30 years of coding experience.  Tia started her coding career at Rochester General Hospital as an outpatient coder; coding emergency room visits, cardiac catheterization, private surgical lounge and endoscopy visits prior transitioning to Inpatient coding.  After 10 years at RGH Tia took an Inpatient coding position with the University of Rochester Medical Center.  Her current duties are conducting coder audits, education, coding as needed, and working hand in hand with CDI and management.

Review of the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI's)
This session will provide an overview of the CCI edits that are currently being utilized
