The Student Advisory Council (SAC) is the group that powers Student Connection and provides programming to reach out to HIM students across the state. The SAC consists of students from each university and college with an HIM program and campus within New York. The SAC is a new venture for NYHIMA and hopes to harness the future of HIM professionals by serving as a connection between the students and the field.

Scholarship Program
By awarding scholarships, the New York Health Information Management Association continues to support and recognize students pursuing education in Health Information Management and Health Informatics. NYHIMA offers academic scholarships for students enrolled in a CAHIIM accredited associate, baccalaureate and master’s degree programs. Proposed functions are:

Career Fair – This annual one-day event brings potential employers looking for recent graduates and experienced professionals to fill open positions in the HIM industry.

Opportunities to Meet Other Students in New York – NYHIMA will work with our local Associations to provide networking and meet and greet opportunities across the state in addition to our annual conference in June.
