I have 27 years of experience in coding, Health information management, and healthcare compliance.
Previous roles include Coding Manager, HIM director, Revenue Integrity Auditor and Associate Director of Audit and Privacy Officer. Currently I also have been active in several professional organizations, including AAPC, AHIMA and HCCA (Health Care Compliance Association) and for the first two, have held leadership positions at the state and local levels. This variety of professional and volunteer opportunities have helped me not only grow in the profession but also mentor others and keep this area of healthcare interesting.
